Pastoral Care Team
We are currently developing a new pastoral care network for the parish. This will be overseen by a team reporting to the PCC. This group oversees and assesses the quality of care invested in our parish (and beyond).
The key areas of care are:
Sick Communion
Three of our lay folk are licensed to administer Holy Communion for the sick although the whole church, when it gathers together for the Eucharist and when it is dismissed into the world, seeks to provide care for the sick.
Residential/nursing homes
There are six homes in our parish which cater for a varying degree of care:
Ritchie Court
Greengates
Elizabeth Nuffield House
Charles Ponsonby House
Parmoor Court
Diamond Court
Hospital visiting
There are no hospitals within our parish boundary but most of our parishioners will use:
John Radcliffe
Churchill
Nuffield (orthopaedic)
Warneford (mental health, residential)
Littlemore (mental health, day)
St Luke (private)
Manor (private)
Home visiting
The needs of parishioners in residential homes vary considerably. We try to take an individual approach. As well as the elderly, we have concern for all who are housebound for different reasons.
